Life Is A Highway by Rascal Flatts

I am not one of those people who refuse to see animated films because “they are cartoons for the kids.” In fact, I enjoy most of them as much or more than many blockbuster movies. So it was unusual for me to miss CARS when it came out in 2006. I finally rented the video last week and I LOVED it. In the “special features” on the DVD, click on “Inspiration” for a great story.

Writer/Director John Lasseter explains that the idea for CARS was born after he took a cross-country road trip with his wife and five sons in 2000. When he returned to the studio after vacation, he contacted Michael Wallis, famed Route 66 historian. Wallis then led 11 Pixar animators in rented white Cadillacs on two different road trips across the route to research the film. A sequel has been announced for a Summer 2012 release, simply titled "Cars 2".

This made me love the song “Life Is A Highway” all over again. It is a driving track with inspiring lyrics that get me excited about living. Turn it up, roll the windows down, sing it out loud and you will feel great!
