help us live successful lives. With its timeless truths and principles,
the ancient Scriptures teach us how to live life to the fullest
and enjoy peace and harmony...
When It’s Hard to Forgive
In Eric Clapton’s new autobiography, he explains how Mick Jagger once stole his girlfriend -- an Italian model. He was so upset that he truly wanted to take revenge. In the book, he makes a confession: “I went on a rampage, mentally…I wanted to kill him. I spent quite a long time plotting ways to undermine or just do away with (him).”
Resentment. It’s something to which all of us are susceptible. The problem with resentment, however, is obvious...it destroys our peace of mind. When we hold unforgiveness, we become imprisoned to our feelings of bitterness and anger.

Forgiveness in most situations may seem impossible. But it is the key to our receiving forgiveness from God.
Jesus said, “If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15
But how can we find it within us to forgive someone who may not deserve it? How do we forgive someone who has intentionally hurt us? There’s only one way I know how - You turn that person over to God.
The Apostle Paul said, “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.” Romans 12:19
Rather than taking revenge and trying to get even, you allow God to be the judge. Instead of carrying a heavy load of bitterness, you say, “God, I’m not going to take matters into my own hands – I turn this person over to you and allow you to deal with this person.” You're not saying that the person didn't hurt you; you're saying you're not the judge or the executioner.
Choose to forgive. Allow God to replace your bitterness with peace and joy.
