Kids Can Volunteer
This Summer Too!
Summer’s here! There are many volunteer opportunities throughout Southern Arizona. Check out these upcoming and ongoing opportunities:
Super Summer Projects
for Ages 11- 18:
Looking for cool fun on hot days? In the Youth Volunteer Corps you meet new
friends and expand your outlook by working together on community projects
and activism. Youth leaders can also apply to the nationally recognized Greater
Tucson Youth Leadership Program. Projects are offered through July 18; Monday
through Friday, half-day or all day. For details and an application packet

Horse Handler
Groom, tack, lead and un tack horses in a therapeutic riding class. The emphasis
for horse handlers is on safety which enables the riders to perform their
best.
Make Reading a Habit
Volunteers 16 and older use a literacy program for children waiting for well-checks
at a south side clinic. The program is designed for infants through 5 years,
the crucial period for reading to become a cherished habit.
Youth Volunteers, Age 13+
Facilitate art or science activities, oversee birthday parties, participate
in special events and learn about daily museum operations at Tucson Children's
Museum.
Pet Clinic Assistant
Help staff with animals -- from pre-surgery preparation to post-surgical
monitoring. Some surgeries are open to observation. Volunteers age 15 and
older may apply.
Studio Recording
Engineer
Apply your technology proficiency to record vocal training sessions. Edit
sessions and purchase or install hardware and software. Three to five years
experience is required, plus knowledge of systems analysis and software or
hardware, the ability to set up, calibrate and operate studio recording equipment,
and the expertise to maintain quality standards.
