Why Should Christians Go to Church?
In the day where people form support groups for everything from book clubs to overeaters anonymous, I find it a bit odd that people have such a hard time understanding what going to church is about. I am not talking about attending a church out of obligation or joining a denomination because it’s your parent’s church. What I am proposing is going to a church for the same reason we attend every other group or function… seek out and form relationships with people of like mind and same interests! As Christians we claim to serve the living God and reigning King of the universe. Our highest calling in this life has been an invitation by God, to be joined with Jesus Christ, and have relationship with Him for eternity.

With the larger picture in mind, I would like to urge anyone asking the question, “Why should I go to church?” to consider that you go to church in hopes of starting and nurturing relationships with others of like mind and common goals, which is… to know, love, and represent the living God and serve each other in His name. Go to church in hopes of finding people to share your life and knowledge of God with, and not just as a tedious ritual to be tolerated on the weekend.
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
