The AMFM family to host its 5th Annual
Marriage and Family Ministry Training Conference (family reunion), August 4–8, 2008

The Association of Marriage and Family Ministries (AMFM) for nearly five years has focused on leading a marriage and family movement in the local church.  They do this through encouraging, training, and resourcing the church and other support organizations in vital areas of ministry.  One of the highlights of the year is their National Marriage and Family Ministry Training Conference.

The AMFM family is proud to host its 5th Annual Marriage and Family Ministry Training Conference (family reunion), August 4–8, 2008 and it is teed up to be the best they have hosted yet.

On Monday, the conference kicks off with a special Marriage Movement Forum hosted in partnership with the Marriage CoMission.  This event will start at 11:30am with lunch served and will end at 4:30 pm.  The forum will highlight the national convergence of marriage champions in media, corporations, churches, resource providers and communities.

Individuals and groups from around the country are coming together to learn how we can impact our country for marriage and family. This is church and community based, so whether you are starting a Community Marriage initiative or a marriage ministry, this day is for you.  Click Here to see a full description and itinerary.

Opening Night, August 4th AMFM will host a leadership screening of the featured film FIREPROOF that will be released into theaters September 26, 2008. This screening is for those who attend the forum, those registered for the AMFM Conference and leaders who are passionate about marriage; this is a must see movie.  This movie will be a great tool to use to ignite a positive message in your church and community. Click Here to RSVP for this special screening.

Once again this conference will bring to you the best of Marriage and Family Ministry Resources for churches and communities. We are excited to offer 90 train-the-trainer workshops covering nearly twenty topical areas of ministry. The trainers are not only the best in their field of expertise, but have a real passion to serve those called to the vital area of ministry. Go to www.amfmconference.com/national to find out more about the workshops and to register.

Back by popular demand: A Resort Setting! The evaluations were loud and clear and AMFM listened.  This conference is being held at the beautiful Arizona Grand Resort, with newly renovated suites, this place is a vacation for your whole family.  So bring the kids and grandkids.

Every room is a suite and can sleep five comfortably!  Go to www.arizonagrandresort.com and check it out for yourself.  See below some details on the Oasis Water Park.

Closing Night AMFM will host Date Night Phoenix as a special gift to all those couples attending the conference. The former lead singer of NewSong, known best by his popular song “Christmas Shoes,” Michael O’Brien, will perform a very special concert. Michael will share his heart as he tells of how he and his wife made it through their struggles and the beautiful love songs he wrote for her. A Harry Connick, Jr. sound that you will not want to miss.  A romantic night that will be the start of an awesome weekend.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the AMFM Family Reunion! starting August 4th in the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona.

SoCal Hotels take a bite out of Gas Prices!!

The Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn by Marriott and the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Santa Clarita/Valencia, CA have joined forces to help the weekend traveler beat soaring gas prices.  With local fuel prices approaching nearly $4.00 per gallon, the 3 hotels decided to find a way to help visitors out by offering a special “Stay & Play” or “Gas Card” package, which includes a $25 gas card for each night of their stay (with a 2-night minimum, Thursday – Sunday).  This is great for visitors to this popular destination which is the home to a favorite theme park Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor.  The city also has many other attractions, including Castaic Lake, Vasquez Canyon, and nearby Winery’s.  It’s a great weekend spot and now it’s still affordable.
